Eric Edwards, who was born Robert Everett in Michigan on November 30, 1945, holds the distinction of being the only adult performer known to have worked in every decade between the 1960s and 1990s. You may also know him as Eric Cowards, Erik Edwards, Rob Emmett, Rob Everett, Rob Evert or Eric Roberts.

After winning a scholarship from ABC TV to attend American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Eric graduated in 1967 and it was legendary actress Helen Hayes who handed him his diploma. Eric signed with the William Morris Agency and got some work in TV commercials for products such as Colgate, Coleco, and Gillette. While he worked in mainstream roles, including summer stock theater, for eight years after graduating, Eric also found his way into XXX work on the side that became his main career. Eric answered an ad in Screw magazine in 1969 that led to work in stag loops. His first scene partner was none other than Linda Lovelace. Unhappily married at the time to a woman named Cathy whom he had met in drama school, Eric actually got his wife to do a few performances with him. They later divorced, after trying swinging in order to save their marriage. Eric eventually racked up at least a thousand appearances, perhaps most famously appearing as Mr. Hardwick in the original Debbie Does Dallas. He had a relationship with DDD costar Arcadia Lake, but it was porn star Renee Summers whom he eventually married in 1986. They had two children in the late '80s but the marriage didn't last. Eric retired from performing for the sake of his two sons, and he has more recently worked as a film editor in the XXX industry.

Eric Edwards is in several industry Halls of Fame, including AVN, XRCO, Hustler, and Legends of Erotica.
